88 Temples - 1200 km - 47 DaysThe Shikoku Pilgrimage is a centuries old pilgrimage established over a 1,200 years ago by the monk Kukai on the beautiful island of Shikoku, Japan. Why anyone would want to do it once is probably a mystery to most. Why anyone would want to do again, is no mystery at all to those who have done it already. I retraced my footsteps of 4 years earlier for no other reason than a wish to feel that deep sense of calm and gratitude I felt the first time, to reflect a little more on the person I am and to show my appreciation for the people of Shikoku who help to keep the ohenro spirit alive.
